In the fall of 1963, Cameron and Muriel Robinson opened Robinson's Paint and Wallpaper across the street from its current location. Seven years later, they moved to 129 Hurontario Street in Collingwood. Fueled by Cameron and Muriel's dedication to quality products and customer service, the business soon enjoyed a growing and loyal customer base.
Cameron and Muriel retired in 1990, but their son Mark and daughter-in-law, Jennifer picked up where they left off. Always a paint and wallpaper store, soon Robinson's began offering an expanded range of products. In fact, in 1995, the store grew and expanded its walls to 4,000-square-feet and some much needed office space on a second floor.
The business continued to add product lines to its inventory. Originally, Robinson's only stocked Benjamin Moore Paint. However, over time they began carrying Sikkens, Sansin, C2 Paint, and Dickies. In 1997, blinds and shutters made a permanent appearance in the store with Elite Window Fashions and Sun Project. In 2003, a parking lot was made at the rear of the store giving customer's handy parking when they shop at Robinson's Paint and Wallpaper.
Today, as in the past, customers of Robinson's Paint and Wallpaper receive great service, knowledgeable assistance, excellent colour matching, and consultations to pick the right colour. Technology may have changed over the years, but the store continues to do business the old fashioned way.
