New Beginnings

In 2001, Mark Robinson outlined his ambitious plans for Robinson's Paint and Wallpaper, a second-generation paint store in downtown Collingwood. A vital aspect of these plans was constructing a gated parking lot at the rear of the store to enhance convenience for customers and staff. The acquisition of the property was finalized in November 2001.

To assist with this project, Mark and his partner, Jennifer, collaborated with Greenland International Consulting Engineers to ensure compliance with local regulations. This collaboration involved conducting soil sampling, developing drainage plans, and addressing other requirements. The driveway was paved as part of the project, and a wrought iron and brick fence was constructed. Additionally, barrier gates were installed at the parking lot's entrance and exit, including a barcode box at the exit gate, to facilitate users' easy access.

Confederation Parade July 1, 1927

Confederation Parade, July 1, 1927, offers a captivating aerial view of the buildings lining Hurontario Street, showcasing the vibrant scene looking north from Third Street. Prominent structures include the Town Hall, the Water Tower, Liberty Cafe, Connolly Drug Store, and the Independent Order of Oddfellows. On Hurontario Street, you can spot eight impressive floats that add to the celebration—notably, the arrow points to what is now Robinson’s Paint & Wallpaper.
